Thank You to the Community

There is really only one thing to say to all of you
THANK YOU :)
From all us here at GroupJive to all of you, may this season bring you joy, happiness and renewal as we move forward faithfully to the potential of 2008.
Without question, the real story of GroupJive in 2007 has been THE COMMUNITY :)
You have made GroupJive fun, have brought ideas, have suggested and pushed and hoped and complained and done all the things that cause the bits of software (and the people) that make up GroupJive to move forward.
This year you have made GroupJive your own. We feel this is your success and we thank you.
From all of us at GJ, have a wondeful holiday. See you here next year and until then...

Make it Great in 2008
your frends at Project GroupJive

New package available

At first I must say sorry to all. Murphy's law is really annoying. Currently everybody on the team (all three of us) have a lot of high priority things to do in our normal lives. So, we have not had much time for Groupjive.

However, today I want to upload the current build so you can check it out. There is also a new searchbot available. Install it as a mambot and your users will be able to get the results from GroupJive groups (title and description) when searching.

Ok, here is the download list:

Groupjive component (http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/5985/18280/com_groupjive_1-6_beta3_rev604.zip) (the notification spam problem should be fixed)
CB Plugin to show users groups (http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/5284/18281/cb1-1_plugin_GJ1-6_604.zip)
    Groupjive searchbot (http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/6023/18282/gj_searchbot_604.zip)

Please make a backup before installing the packages!

Please test it and let us know what's needs to be patched. Thank you.

GroupJive Community (part 1 of 5)

The Future of Community at GroupJive

(and how you can help)

An incredible ride!

That's the only way I know how to describe the last 5 months here at GroupJive. It only takes a little looking in the rear view mirror to see how far we've come and recall all the ground that has been covered.

The Finish Line is just a couple of turns down the track now. Although we are not at the last stretch yet, it is time to think about supporting the future and the Community at GroupJive.

In developing a community component GroupJive would like to write today about our own community. What we are thinking about today and what we may ask for to support the very people that come here relying on Open Source to achieve their goals. When we think about online communities, we generally first come to consider some basic questions:

    what makes a community?
    what sustains a community?

So how do these two questions that each of us (developers / designers / hobbyists etc... ) consider in our own projects.... apply here at GroupJive? Let's take a look at two super vital and super...
