Using DAV on Windows XP to access the GJ Nightly Build How do I access the complete set of current files on SVN at joomlacode.org? I'm on Windows XP Pro.
- Login to the joomlacode.org
- Go to project groupjive http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/groupjive
- Click on the SVN [tab] then click on Access Info <on the RH menu>
- you'll now have a URL in your browser that looks something like: http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/groupjive/scmsvn/?action=AccessInfo - Copy the URL that is written on that page >
oh yeah.... its: http://joomlacode.org/svn/groupjive - Go to Start (remember this is Windows XP only)
- Open Control Panel (classic view)
- Open Network Connections
- Click on My Network Places (left hand menus)
- At top of menu > Click on Add a Network Place
- Click Next
- Select Choose another network location
- Click Next
- Copy the the URL above (the one in Step 4) and paste it into the "Internet or network address" textbox
- Make this very "important adjustment" to the file path: add the slash/ and pound# to the end of your path "without quotes" like this: " /# "
>> pocket protector wearing propeller heads can read this post if you want to know - http://svn.haxx.se/users/archive-2004-10/0866.shtml - Your entire file path should now read like this: http://joomlacode.org/svn/groupjive/#
- Enter your joomlacode.org USER/PASS just like you do at joomlacode.org
- Click Next
- Name this Directory something like... GroupJiveRocksWithDAV
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Hey you got 21 !
Open the directory and grab the stuff like it's on your desktop. NOTES: - DAV accesses the latest build in an SVN repository. This means, on any platform, if you use DAV (Distributed Authoring and Version) to access GroupJive SVN at joomlacode.org, you will be accessing the most current version.
- There are always release versions here http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/groupjive/frs/
- SVN Clients like Tortoise SVN (http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/) are used to access SVN in it's entirety with versioning
