Good day everyone.

The week in Team GroupJive has seen our Team beginning the daily routines and tasks of fixing bugs and moving GroupJive toward "stable". There is a lot of work yet to do and so we are asking our developers to meet.

In talking with Micha, we believe having a regular scheduled developer meeting is essential to the positive energy and successful development of GroupJive. There is a "very large amount" of activity in Joomla development right now. This activity is moving quickly and it requires our developers to "communicate clearly and regularly". Our awareness and effort is essential for the development of Groups and Social Networking to keep pace with the future of Joomla.

  • Micha has suggested developers meet once/week
  • the day is open to discussion but should be a "specifically scheduled recurring meeting" (meaning the same time and day every week)
  • Micha has suggested either Wednesday or a weekend day
  • Please contact Micha Perthel to organize this meeting time. thank you.

Here is an outline of this weeks activity:
  • ACCEPTED Bugs by our developers = 10 of 18 total
  • SVN "GroupJive Manual" folder added to SVN
  • OpenOffice.org template for Manual uploaded to "docs and support" and work on manual begun
  • Sean, Mark (and others) have agreed to begin working on a more XHTML/CSS friendly design
  • GroupJive welcomes Balaji Parsumarthy (and his group) to GroupJive Development
  • GroupJive weclomes the return of Dawn Amato Rudolph (design) to the team
  • Discussions continue in the Forums on features (see most recent posts)

Please check the stable stack post for links to all STABLE components included for GJ Stable release.

IN closing... we are asking in the nicest possible way that our developers make "commitments" of time to GroupJive. Setting a benchmark of commits to SVN is essential for the consistent and incremental progress of this component. What you feel you can give, please give. We come to you in openness and sincerity. Almost all of our team uses GroupJive as an integral part of their own sites. For GroupJive to keep pace with Joomla, we need regular consistent commits to SVN from our Development team. Thank you.

...and thanks for a great week.
