I've been trying to get this to work now for 24 hours now, and im beginning to think that i might have misunderstood the function of this component

first of all, im running following scripts on my site.
Joomla 1.58
CB 1.2Rc4
Fireboard 1.05Rc2

My idea with this component was, that i could have groups with lets say 10 members, that was the only ones to have access to a certain forum, that other users do not have access to see, did i misunderstand this, or is this posible, i cant get this to work.

Hope there is a friendly soul who can help me out here

You are close... Just that the forums are not Private to the Groups...

I just thought that in the CB plugin that I have downloaded here, it was posible to hide a cat in fireboard, cause it said cat_id to the "hidden" category

I might should take a look at phoenixboard, since fireboard was abandoned

Oh well, i'll keep looking for a usefull solution, thanks for your quick reply

Whoa... I may have mis-spoke.
You CAN hide the category which the forums reside in, then (with a small hack to fireboard.php) you can access them directly! Let me test a few things here and get back to you! (how exciting!)

OK... So we can Hide the forums and access them with a direct link with a simple change to Line 45 in fb_pathway.php.... BUT they are not Private! They will be accessible to anyone, assuming they find the link. [shrug]
I am playing around with this right now and it has caused some other trouble for me which is sending me backwards... I had intended to leave all my User Group forums visible in the index and now that I am trying to hide them I am having other grief.
Anyhow, I will put a little time into this today and see what happens.

I did try to edit line 45 in fb_pathway too, but i dident get to hide my forums, cause i just dont understand how i can hide something, when the forum is setup to be seen for registered users, oh well, i'll try and look trough the forum to see if i can find some sort of guides, mayby i've set it up wrong
