Is it possible to have a private group forum using fireboard?
I have groupjive and I've integrated it successfully with fireboard
but what I've wanted to do all along is give the group a private forum that only they can post on and read
is this possible?
If its not possible, why not? and is there anything I can do to achieve this?

So what is the point of having groups, if the forums within aren't private?
I'm trying to put together a community somewhat like cafemom.com Forums with each group are only accessible by members of that GROUP.
Any ideas???

I assume that you have your group forums working and hidden right? If not, all the info is here to get that far (or ask a specific question about the install and sombody can help you through it.) The only privacy issues you will find are the fact that the forums would be available to logged in users who can guess the url of the forum. this is a deficiency of J! and GJ and FB user types and permissions. (The possible Olympus integration seems to me to have som many possibilities, with A3s permission system) If you need a secure forum, I think you might want to look in a different direction.
As far as the posts showing up of the Forum Tab of the CB Profile... either disable this feature, or a fairly simple hack should hide all latest posts from the Group Forum Parent category... right? This would not be a great loss as the group shows its latest posts on the detail page, right? Hmmm... you have sparked something here. I'll put this on my list of things to work on... good one!

Okay next set of noob questions
How exactly do I hack? and once I edit the code, how do you apply it to the site without loosing all previously set settings?
I like the idea of hiding all the latest posts from the hidden forum directories. But how exactly would you go about doing this?
and lastly, even if the forum is hidden, wouldn't the posts still show up on FB's recent discussions?
How would you disable this? Is there a hack so you can still use the feature but just hide theses posts?
Thank you so much for your help thus far. It's been very helpful.

You are most welcome!
If you can give me one day, I am just putting the finishing touches on the first of a series of video tutorials which will bring you up to speed. It covers everything to get you to a point where you have hidden forums available to Group Members. The hacks are fairly simple and can be found in these forums. The readmes included with the RC release are not really up to date, and sometimes cause more confusion than anything. I Will have the vid posted by morning.
Aaron.
EDIT-
Sorry, to answer your specific question, with the simple pathway hack, the posts will not show on FBs list of recent posts because the category & forum are not publicly published. However, if you plan to use the CB forums tab, they will show up on the Original Poster's tab, I believe...
