Question 1:
Just thought I'd drop a note wondering on the process of the preRC. Any time line when Group Jive will be moving to RC1?
We can't give time lines since we are all working around all life's other priorities, such as jobs and family.
Question 2:
Any progress towards or tentative time for the integration of Event List?
This will follow after the Stable release of GroupJive. Again, we won't commit to a timeline, as this only causes problems if the timeline is not met.
Question 3:
Besides donating and posting on the forum, what can a non developer do to contribute to this project. Is there any need for help in the documentation, tutorials or how to areas?
I am currently working on a manual myself, but this is a living document that will change as development proceeds. I may or may not release the manual before the Stable version of GroupJive is publicly released, but any user-submitted tutorials, articles, documentation or how-tos will be gratefully accepted. When submitted, please make sure to let us know your terms and conditions of use, such as distribution, credit requirements, licensing or anything else you wish to be attached to the post or download.
In addition, help in the forums of any kind is always welcome. Just answering questions or attempting to resolve problems of other users greatly helps the Team.
Any developers are encouraged to offer plugins or modules to expand GroupJive functionality to benefit the GroupJive Community. While there is yet to be any API documentation released for CB 1.2 or GJ 1.7 RC, integration plugins should be much easier to create with GJ's use of the new CB 1.2 API. Again, licensing, credit and distribution requirements should be submitted along with the Plugin or Module being offered here.
Hacks, although welcome as far as current fixes or enhancements while we wait for the Stable version, will not be posted as downloads. Users should know that hacks are temporary fixes for current problems, but they can cause problems if they affect core functionality of Joomla, CB, GJ or any module or plugin.
I know this doesn't completely answer your questions and that development is never as quick as we'd like, but I wanted to thank you on behalf of the GroupJive Team for your offer to help in any way you can.
Jamie
